Founded by Macomb County, Martha T. Berry Medical Care Facility has been the safety net for frail elders with little or no financial means to obtain care. With the “silver tsunami” and two economic downturns in the last ten years, our services are needed now more than ever before.
Martha T. Berry, Medical Care facility was opened in 1950, largely through the generosity of the late Henry G. Berry, M.D., who practiced medicine in Macomb County for approximately 50 years. The building was named in memory of Dr. Berry’s wife, Martha Taylor Berry. Currently the building is governed by the County Board of Commissioners and overseen by an appointed Board of Social Services. Martha T. Berry is one of over 30 county-owned facilities and a member of the Michigan County Medical Care Facilities Council.
